Veridium Announces Extensive Upgrades to Biometric Authentication Solutions

Enhancements address key industry pain points through new transaction signing capabilities, liveness detection, and identity assurance

Quincy, MA – June 07, 2017 – Veridium, a leader in mobile biometrics-based authentication software, today announced the launch of Veridium 1.2, the next generation of its end-to-end, enterprise-ready biometric authentication solutions. The upgrade features significant enhancements to the VeridiumID platform and the VeridiumAD and 4 Fingers TouchlessID solutions.

Veridium’s software eliminates the most vulnerable point of access – passwords – by replacing them with secure and convenient biometrics. These new updates deliver on Veridium’s brand promise to build software that enhances enterprise security and increases convenience and productivity at a lower total cost of ownership to the customer.

The Veridium 1.2 upgrade strengthens Veridium’s position as an industry leader, backed by the company’s unique Distributed Data Model that breaks up biometric templates between the server and a mobile device, making it highly unlikely for data to be compromised or stolen. As the biometric authentication market is expected to hit $32.73 billion by 2022, Veridium’s authentication solutions are prepared to address growing customer and market needs.

“As the inherent problem of passwords exponentially grows, organizations must keep pace with the evolving nature of enterprise security while also addressing the global demand for employee and customer mobility,” said James Stickland, Veridium CEO. “The Veridium 1.2 upgrade extends and solidifies our dedication to offering flexible and convenient mobile authentication methods while ensuring enterprise data security.”

VeridiumID

VeridiumID is an end-to-end platform for biometric authentication that provides a server-side protocol with a front-end mobile SDK that allows companies to embed biometrics into a mobile application. New features of this solution include:

  • Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) – A standard for the authentication and authorization exchange between services to achieve single sign-on (SSO) across multiple platforms. This means VeridiumID can now be used as an identity provider, enabling SSO to any third-party SAML-enabled service with the security of biometric authentication.
  • Transaction signing – Guarantees non-repudiation by verifying the integrity of online transactions to ensure each request is tamper evident. This creates a secure digital signature aligned with government compliance standards and regulations.
  • Server-side matching – Biometric matching can now execute on both the server side and the client side, increasing the security of the matching process.
  • User Behavior Analysis – A new framework that creates a repository within VeridiumID to capture data such as GPS, IP address, gyroscope, accelerometer, and magnetometer from the mobile device to help profile ‘normal’ user behavior.

VeridiumAD

VeridiumAD is an enterprise-ready solution that adds biometric authentication and identity assurance to Microsoft Active Directory environments. This solution is a primary authenticator, delivering password-free biometric authentication into Microsoft Active Directory, supporting Windows clients and Windows Server for physical and virtual machines joined to Active Directory. This solution now includes new connectors to integrate with Citrix.

VeridiumAD is the first software-only solution that seamlessly integrates into Citrix StoreFront and Citrix NetScaler environments. VeridiumAD has been verified as Citrix Ready®, which means that VeridiumAD has successfully passed a series of tests established by Citrix, and can be trusted to work effectively with Citrix StoreFront and Citrix NetScaler.

4 Fingers TouchlessID

As Veridium’s proprietary biometrics solution, 4 Fingers TouchlessID captures all four fingerprints at once, using the phone’s rear camera and flash to verify an individual’s identity – making it not only easier to capture but also increasing security, as capturing all four fingerprints at once increases the complexity of the data collected well beyond partial prints, like those captured by sensor-based mobile fingerprint solutions.

The latest version of the technology integrates Liveness, a feature that distinguishes between real people and mere images, improving security by making spoofing much more difficult.

4 Fingers Export SDK

4 Fingers Export SDK captures fingerprints touchlessly from most iOS or Android smartphones that have a 5MP camera and LED flash. The quality of the prints captured is equivalent to prints collected from a conventional flatbed scanner. Once captured, prints can be saved and exported in a format ready for matching against most legacy databases, including AFIS, Interpol, Eurodac, IDENT1, Aadhaar, and more.
