A recent study by Accenture found that one out of every eight participants in England has had their identity compromised in a healthcare-related data breach. According to the report, more than three-quarters think healthcare providers should be responsible for protecting their data, and that 35 percent of incidents happen at pharmacies, compared to 29 percent at hospitals. HSBC Reveals Voice Biometric System for US Customers | FindBiometrics

HSBC is one of the latest banks to embrace biometric authentication for customers, deploying voice recognition for its US customer base. The firm previously launched facial recognition for its business customers in 2016 and plans to deploy more biometric solutions in the future. The Voice ID system can authenticate customers in English, Spanish, Mandarin, and Cantonese. [Read More]

Mobile & Wearable Biometric Authentication Growing at Astonishing Rate | MobileID World

A recent market forecast by Goode Intelligence predicts that the mobile and wearables fields for biometric authentication will reach 3.3 billion users by 2022. This growth rate will be driven by significant consumer adoption of biometric-capable devices, and increasing comfort with the technology for authenticating mobile payments and into apps.
